Welcome and thanks for visiting Lewis St. Church of Christ website. We hope that our website highlights our worship, fellowship and opportunities that's available. Please feel free to read more about our congregation on this site or come by to visit us at 2716 So. Lewis St. in Little Rock, AR. We would love to greet you and share with you our love for Jesus Christ. We believe that the door to salvation is always open and so are the doors to the church. of Christ. Our mission is to be fully devoted to Jesus, by opening our arms to those in search of the truth. We show God's love and concern for our fellow man at every available opportunity. Race or nationality has no barring on how you are to be treated because we treat everyone the same. Through works of charity and opening our doors to listen in love, we feel that we are walking in the footsteps of Jesus as He commands us to. There is no man or group of men who legislate. We have no one to answer to but Christ. He is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18) which leave no room for any human head. As in the first century, there is also no inter-congregational organization but rather independent congregations in different locations with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
Is to create a means by which all men can readily see the path created by God leading us all to accomplish our ultimate goal, which is heaven. our desire is to show those who seek God, to be able to show them the path to salvation through love, patience, humility and God's word.
WHAT WE DO
IN OUR ASSEMBLIES
The entire assembly joins in singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs just as required in the New Testament scripture. (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)
The congregation is led in prayer by men in the assembly. We pray not only to praise and thank God but also to ask for our needs and the needs of others to be met.
1 Timothy 2:1-4
We are commanded in the scripture to give as we are prospered. (1 Corinthians 16:1,2)
The lessons and sermons are designed to teach God's word in it's simplicity, so as to encourage and strengthen those who listen and comply.
THE LORD'S SUPPER
Like the early church in the New Testament we partake of the Lord's supper each first day of the week (Acts 20:7). The communion consist of unleavened bread and fruit of the vine as memorials of the body and blood of Jesus Christ. ( 1 Corinthians 11:20-36)
We are a group of God fearing men and women, young and old who have formed and constitute such as those described in the New Testament. We are simply christians (Acts 11:26;26:28;
1Peter 4: )15-16), followers of Christ. We reach out to the community in love, as a means of sharing and helping guide those in need to a better way of life. We supply and meet the needs of those in our community who may want or need our assistance, not only physical (food, clothes etc.) but spiritual as well.
WHO WE ARE
THE CHURCH OF CHRIST
We would like for you to make a careful comparison of this Church with the one described in detail in your Bible. We believe that you will find that this church is not similar to but identical in every way to the Church you read about in the New Testament.
This isn't an exclusive or wealthy church. Everything about it is very simple. It exist here as a simple New Testament body pointing those of it's community to the Christ and God of the Bible. It's doors are open to all who from the quiet depths of their hearts, would reach out to God in simple worship and obedient living.
